President Kennedy addresses NATO officials and personnel at the NATO Headquarters building at Porte Dauphine. President and Mrs. Kennedy are given a State Dinner in the Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles. June 2 – President Kennedy visits SHAPE headquarters where he is greeted by Supreme Allied Commander Lauris Norstadt and makes brief remarks. President Kennedy and President Charles de Gaulle conclude three days of discussions at the Élysée Palace. In a joint communiqué both leaders declare that they are in firm agreement on the defense of Berlin. June 3 – President Kennedy and his party depart Paris.
